It proved to be another difficult morning for Melbourne Dynamo Tigers, who fell to a 6–2 defeat away to a strong and determined Spondon Rovers side. From the outset, Spondon were quicker to both first and second balls and showed greater physicality and desire across the pitch. Long throw-ins were a key feature of their approach, and the pressure they generated from these situations eventually paid off. Tigers struggled to match the intensity and once again found it challenging to raise their performance against a physically dominant opponent.

Despite the pressure, Tigers did produce moments of real quality, particularly with sharp passages of quick passing play. The first goal came from Williams, who showed superb awareness and technique to loft the ball into the net from 25 yards while the Spondon keeper was out of position. A second came shortly after via an own goal, bringing the score level at 2–2 going into halftime.

However, the second half saw Spondon continue with sustained energy and direct pressure, scoring four further goals to secure a deserved victory.

There were positive displays within the performance - Docherty worked effectively and with discipline in a CDM role, Jacks defended with commitment and leadership, and Williams continued to drive the team forward in midfield. Carrick, meanwhile, earned a well-deserved Man of the Match award for his relentless work rate and determination at right back.

A disappointing result overall, and one the team will know they can improve upon. Tigers now turn their attention to their next fixture - a home match against Aston - where they will look to respond with increased energy, aggression, and consistency across the full 90 minutes.
