A trip to Swanwick saw Melbourne Dynamo claim their first win of the season in emphatic style, sweeping aside Sleetmoor United with a commanding 7–1 victory.

The Dynamos started on the front foot, playing with intensity and peppering the Sleetmoor keeper with early efforts. Their pressure told when Durkin threaded a fine through ball into Watkinson, who curled a superb finish to open the scoring. Moments later, Turrell rose highest to nod home from a corner, before Tovell converted a penalty with confidence after a clumsy Sleetmoor challenge.

At 3–0, Melbourne looked in full control, but Sleetmoor rallied and pulled one back, stepping up their press and carving out chances. Chambers, on his debut season with Dynamos, produced two excellent saves to preserve the two-goal cushion going into half-time.

The second half began with a key turning point — Sleetmoor were awarded a penalty, but Chambers pulled off a stunning full-stretch stop low to his left, tipping the ball around the post. From there, Melbourne never looked back.

What followed was the McCrae show: two thunderous free-kicks and a crisp first-time strike from the edge of the box completed a sensational hat-trick. Watkinson added his second of the game to round off the scoring at 7–1.

This was a highly convincing display from Melbourne, with standout performances across the pitch: Tovell driving the midfield with his usual blend of energy and leadership, Jacks providing a calm and reliable presence at the back, and McCrae’s ruthless hat-trick lighting up the attack. But on his birthday, it was goalkeeper Chambers who stole the headlines — three top-class saves, including a penalty stop, earning him a well-deserved Man of the Match award.
