A well-deserved recipient - congratulations Zak!

Congratulations to Zak Lewis on being awarded the Tony Coffey Memorial Shield for 2022!

Zak was awarded the Tony Coffey Memorial Shielfd at the MSP on May 27th. The shield is given annually in memory of much-loved football coach Tony Coffey, who worked with the football club in the 80s and 90s.

Presenting the award to Zak, Don Miller said "It's an honour and a privilege for me to be here with all of you with the Tony Coffey Memorial Shield. Tony was a fantastic man and he was a fantastic manager. To have your name on this shield surely means you have given your all and performed with excellence."

Zak has been with the club since 2010, when he joined the Soccer Schools, and still to this day plays in our under-18s side.

Following lockdown, Zak started to help out with coaching our younger teams on a Saturday morning. He has continued to coach our Soccer Schools and under-7s since, even supporting our coaches on match days.

On being awarded the shield, Zak said "I'm very, very privileged and really happy. I think it's nice to give back to people and it's nice that people recognise it as well. It makes me want to get more involved."

Tony Coffey's son, Liam said "Zak was a very easy choice for everyone to win this award , for all of the hard work he has put in and with all the volunteering that he has done, which in itself is a selfless thing to do."

Everyone at Melbourne Dynamo & Wildcats FC would like to congratulate Zak for his award and thank him for all the hard work he has dedicated to the club over the years. Keep up the good work!
