Melbourne Dynamo Tigers produced an outstanding all-round performance to secure a convincing 4–1 victory over Allestree Romans, in a match full of energy, high tempo, and quality.

From the opening whistle Tigers played with purpose, moving the ball well and working hard both in and out of possession against a well organised Allestree side.

Tigers’ goals were shared between Watkinson and Martin, both of whom showed excellent persistence and poise in front of goal. Watkinson opened his account from the penalty spot, keeping his nerve to convert confidently sending the keeper the wrong way. He added a second later on with a superb finish after being played through on goal, showing great composure.

Martin also grabbed two well-earned goals. His first came as a reward for determination, robbing the centre half at the byline and finishing confidently. His second was all about reactions - timing his run into the box and quickest to respond to tuck the ball away after the Allestree keeper could only parry McRae’s free kick.

Although the team created plenty going forward, they were also tested at the back, and Chambers produced a number of stunning saves to maintain control of the match. His shot-stopping was exceptional and he deservedly earned Man of the Match.

It was one of Tigers’ most complete displays of the season, with every player delivering an 8 or 9 out of 10 performance - disciplined, hardworking, and fully committed from start to finish. A brilliant team win and one the squad can take real confidence from moving into next week’s fixture against Duffield Dynamos.
